A: The main goal of play in the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall is to work and earn money, and then use the money to buy fun things. Each Pixel Chix™ pal can work and shop in any of the 4 available stores. Every time you buy a new item, you unlock new animations/games that will play when you select that item in the money/stuff screen. There are also games that you can play with your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal just for fun while she is shopping. These games can be played by pushing the smiley-face button (fun button) while shopping in any store.

Q: Are there levels of play in the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall?

A: No, there are no levels of play in the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall. However, the more money you earn, the more items you can buy, which means you can buy new hairstyles, accessories, and fashions to wear and there are more games to play!

Q: How does my Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal earn money while working?

A: In order for your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal to earn money while on the job, you must win work games and be polite to customers so you can make sales. If you win 3 work games (accessed by pressing the "fun" button while in work mode) in a single work session, you will get a $10 bonus! If a customer asks a question, you can answer yes (press the "yes" button) or no (press the "no" button). If you answer yes, you will help the customer, make a sale, and earn money. If you press no, the customer will become upset and you will NOT earn any money. Sometimes, 3 tasks will occur one after the other (example: delivery boy enters with a package, customer walks in and waves for your attention, and phone rings). You must choose what order to complete these tasks in. If you do not choose to begin with the most important, you may not earn any money. If you choose correctly, everything will work out fine and you will eventually earn money. Note: It may take several customers and several correct choices before you start seeing money appear in your bank account on the money/stuff screen. To enter work mode, press the "work" button.

Q: How does my Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal go shopping?

A: To take your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal shopping, you must first press the "shop" button. As long as the pal has been working for a while (at least 3 work activities), the pal will give her work apron to her friend and begin to shop. Your pal is now in shop mode! Once in shop mode, press the "shop" button in any store. You will then be prompted with several questions such as "What should I buy?" Use the shop and work button to scroll the blinking arrow through the different available options, and then press the "yes" button to choose an item to buy.

Q: What happens if my Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal does not have enough money to buy something?

A: Your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal keeps money in two places: her purse and her bank account. You can view your balance by pressing the "money/stuff button" at any time. At the top of the money/stuff menu screen you will see two sets of numbers: the top number has a dollar sign in front of it and is the amount of money you have in your purse (limited to $40 at a time), and the bottom number is how much you have in your bank account. All the stores in the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall will only take cash, so you must pay from the money in your purse. If you do not have enough money in your purse, your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal will automatically withdraw money from her account using the ATM machine located in each store. If you do not have enough money in your bank account to buy what you want, you must go back to work and earn more!

Q: How does my Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal access things she has purchased?

A: To play with the things your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal has purchased you must first press the "money/stuff" button to view the money/stuff menu. This menu will show icons for each of the 4 available stores: dress on hanger for the Boutique, fork and knife for the Food Court, dog for the Pet Shop, and a wig and brush for the Salon. After you have entered the money/stuff menu screen, use the "work" and "shop" buttons to scroll left or right respectively and the "yes" button to select a store. Once you choose a store's icon, you will be taken to that store's menu screen. If you cannot access a store or do not see the store's icon on the "money/stuff" menu screen, your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal has not visited or bought anything from that store. If you want to exit the "money/stuff" menu screen, press the "no" button. Each store has its own individual menu screen that allows you to select an item you bought to see a new animation or play a new game related to that item. If you cannot select an item or do not see it in the store menu screen, you have not bought it yet. To return to the money/stuff menu screen, press the "no" button. To exit the money/stuff menu, press the "no" button.

Q: How does my Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal play games?

A: If you want to play a game with your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal, press the "fun" button in either shop or work mode. You can also randomly play customer-related games if you press the "work" button while in work mode. If you choose not to play a game that has already started, simply press the "no" button to end the game immediately. Once the game has begun, the "shop" and "work" buttons act as right and left arrow keys respectively. Utilize these buttons as selection arrows, making your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal change direction, or moving items while playing arcade games. You can also press the "yes" button to select items, make your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal reach, swing or perform actions in certain games.

Q:How do I make one Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal go from her Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall to an adjoining Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall?

A: Connect the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall "A" and Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall "B" together firmly. You will know they are connected firmly if the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pals in each Mall begin doing autonomous animations (example: animations that occur when you are not pressing any buttons) such as answering the phone, using the restroom, making funny faces, etc. If you want to send the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal from Mall "A" to Mall "B", press the "fun", "work" or "shop" button on Mall "B". This will prompt the pal in Mall "A" to enter the elevator in Mall "A", and then appear in the elevator in Mall "B". If you press the "work" button to call the pal over, she will enter work mode immediately upon arriving in her new mall. The same goes for pressing the "shop" button to call the pal to the other mall. Pressing the "fun" button will allow the pal to arrive in Mall "B" in the same mode she left Mall "A". To have your Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal return to Mall "A", press any button on Mall "A", disconnect the malls, or hold down the "no" button for 3 seconds on Mall "B".

A: If you connect a Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall to a Pixel Chix™ Car, the only play that will occur between the two toys is for the pal to leave the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall and enter the Pixel Chix™ Car. The Pixel Chix™ pal in the car WILL NOT BE ABLE to leave the car and enter the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall. To have the pal leave the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall and enter the Pixel Chix™ Car, be sure they are firmly connected and press any button on the car. Note: The hair color of the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal leaving the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall may change to match the color of the Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal who lives in the car.

A: This is simply an aspect of design in the toy. The idea is that only one Pixel Chix™ pal can work or shop in each store at a time, so when one Pixel Chix™ Love to Shop™ Mall pal comes to work or shop, the other is taking a break.

Q: How does my Pixel Chix™ pal leave her house and go for a ride in the Pixel Chix™ car?

A: Follow the steps below: 
  1. Plug your Pixel Chix™ car into your Pixel Chix™ house. This will trigger the Pixel Chix™ pal in the car to disappear.
  2. Push the any button on the Pixel Chix™ car. Once a button on the car is pressed, your Pixel Chix™ pal in the house will open the door, close the door behind her and say "Bye". The lights in the house will go out as if she is not home. Footsteps will sound and the Pixel Chix™ pal will be seen approaching the car. She will get into the car, shut the door, put on her seatbelt and say, "Let's go!" Please note that your Pixel Chix™ entering the car will have the same hair color as the Pixel Chix™ who "lives" in the car; for example, if you have a Pixel Chix™ House with a blonde haired gal, and a Pixel Chix™ Car with a brunette, as the blonde gal leaves the house and enters the car, the gal's hair will change from blond to brunette.
  3. Disconnect car from house and begin to play with car. The house will remain asleep until a button is pressed on it. Please note that normal play on the car will begin even if car is still connected to house. Pressing buttons on the house will activate the house and it will begin normal play even with the car attached.

Q: Why does my Pixel Chix™ pal in the car disappear when I plug the Pixel Chix™ car into the Pixel Chix™ house?

A: When the Pixel Chix™ house is not connected to the Pixel Chix™ car, the two toys will operate independently. When the Pixel Chix™ car is plugged into the Pixel Chix™ house your Pixel Chix™ pal that was in the car will disappear. At this point, the car and the house know that they are plugged together and are waiting for someone to press their buttons. The Pixel Chix™ pal that was in the house continues to live in the house, but she can now leave the house at any time to go for a ride in the Pixel Chix™ car.

Q: Does the Pixel Chix™ car have levels of play like the Pixel Chix™ house?

A: The Pixel Chix™ car does not have levels of play. At any point (being played with independently or with your Pixel Chix™ house), the Pixel Chix™ car will maintain the same level of play with the same amount of activities.

Q: What color hair does each Pixel Chix™ pal have?

A: The Pixel Chix™ pal Cars:

Q: Can I plug two Pixel Chix™ cars together?

A: No, the Pixel Chix™ cars cannot be connected.

Q: Can I have two Pixel Chix™ pals in one Pixel Chix™ car at the same time?

A: Follow the steps below to have both of your Pixel Chix™ pals take a ride in the Pixel Chix™ car together: 
  1. Connect your Pixel Chix™ car to two Pixel Chix™ houses that are connected together. Once two houses and the car are all connected, press any button on the Pixel Chix™ car.
  2. Once a button on the car is pressed, both of your Pixel Chix™ pals in the houses will open the door, close the door behind them and say "Bye". The lights in the houses will go out as if they are not home. Please note that your Pixel Chix™ entering the car will have the same hair color as the Pixel Chix™ who "lives" in the car, in other words, if, you have a Pixel Chix™ House with a blond haired pal, and a Pixel Chix™ Car with a brunette, as the blonde gal leaves the house and enters the car, the gal's hair will change from blond to brunette.
There will also be times when your Pixel Chix™ gal in the Pixel Chix™ car will pick up a friend at random.

Q: Why does my Pixel Chix™ pal's hair change colors when she leaves the Pixel Chix™ house to take a ride in the Pixel Chix™ car?

A: The Pixel Chix™ pal's hair color in the car will always be the same. If you have a Pixel Chix™ House with a blond haired gal and a Pixel Chix™ Car with a brunette, as the blonde pal leaves the house and enters the car, the pal's hair will change from blond to brunette.

Q: What new things are unlocked with every level that is reached with my Pixel Chix™ house?

A: As you play with your Pixel Chix™ pal, you will move up to higher levels of play. As you reach a new level of play, your Pixel Chix™ pal will appear in a puff of smoke, a trumpet will play and she will yell, "Whoo-Hoo!" With each new level, you get more fashions, more food, more places to go and more games to play. The more you play with your Pixel Chix™ pal the faster you will get to each new level. If you ignore your Pixel Chix™ pal and do not play with her, she will show attitude and you will go down in levels of play. If you continue to ignore your gal, she will leave her home and you will have to reset your Pixel Chix™ House. You can reset your house by looking at the back of the unit above the slot on the bottom left hand corner for the word "reset", and using a pen or pencil to press the button located in the hole below "reset". Once you press the reset button, play will start at level one. Please note that you will not be able to reset the unit and begin at the level at which you left off; pressing reset always takes you back to level one. Be sure to pay attention to her!

Q: How do Pixel Chix™ pals interact when I have plugged together multiple houses? 
A: When you connect two Houses together, push the fun button on one of the houses and one Pixel Chix™ pal will visit the house in which you pushed the button. One of five animations will then appear: have cake/play together, have a slumber party, have a fashion show, watch TV/eat together, dance together. When you connect more than two Houses together, the Pixel Chix™ pals will do a synchronized dance, talk on the phone or wave to each other. Up to ten Pixel Chix™ Houses can be connected to each other. Please reference fun button image.

Q: Why won't the Pixel Chix™ house respond properly while the Pixel Chix™ car is plugged into the house?

A: To play with the Pixel Chix™ pal in the house, the Pixel Chix™ car should be unplugged from the house. If the car remains plugged into the House, the House buttons will not respond until after the girl has left the house and gone into the car, then the house has been turned back on even with car attached. Q: How do I get my Pixel Chix™ pal to go back to the Pixel Chix™ house after I am finished playing with her in the Pixel Chix™ car? 
A: It is not possible for you to control the Pixel Chix™ pal exit the Car and enter the House. However, this may happen in an "autonomous animation" (i.e. an animation that occurs automatically when you are not actively pressing buttons on the toy). For example, she could walk back into her House (sometimes with her mail!), sweep her floor, do a cart wheel, make a funny face, etc, but you have to play to find out!

Q: Why are there cobwebs growing in my Pixel Chix™ house?

A: As you do not play your Pixel Chix™ pal, she will show attitude and you will go down in levels of play. While descending in levels of play, you may notice cobwebs forming, a ghost visiting or some other sign that she is being neglected. If you continue to ignore your pal, she will leave her home and you will have to reset your Pixel Chix™ House. You can reset your house by looking at the back of the unit above the slot on the bottom left hand corner for the word "reset", and using a pen or pencil to press the button located in the hole below "reset". Once you press the reset button, play will start at level one. Please note that you will not be able to reset the unit and begin at the level at which you left off; pressing reset always takes you back to level one. Be sure to pay attention to her! Q: Can two of the same Pixel Chix™ houses be connected together?
